RTA promotes Metro Mobility Culture in Dubai Police

The step is part of RTA's introductory tours that aim at spreading the culture of mobility through the metro


Dubai (Roads & Transport Authority):

The Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) held a joint gathering with Dubai Police General HQ to introduce and promote the features and benefits of the ‘Metro Mobility Culture’. The gathering, which was held at the meeting room of Dubai Police General HQ, is part of an educative campaign initiated by the RTA to promote the culture of public transport among the various community segments and organizations. The campaign emphasizes on the mobility through the Metro; the latest and most exciting transport mode in the emirate of Dubai, and highlights the importance of encouraging government employees to use it.
“RTA assigns great importance to Dubai Metro and the need to promote the culture of the ‘Metro Mobility’ as a means of travelling to various destinations in the emirate of Dubai. Therefore it is crucial to give maximum publicity to all the relevant information about Dubai Metro; particularly the core information related to the fares, lines, stations, headway, and hours and Nol cards” said Peyman Younes Parham, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication Dep’t at RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
“The Marketing & Corporate Communication Dep’t has taken all measures and precautions related to delivering the knowledge and information about Dubai Metro through a series of far-reaching promotional campaigns launched before the metro is operated.
“These joint introductory gatherings are extremely important particularly in this timing. We have held several joint introductory gatherings with many authorities, departments and organizations in Dubai. This joint gathering with Dubai Police General HQ, the standing strategic partner of the RTA, is part of our plans to promote the metro culture among the widest possible number of official bodies and organizations. Earlier gatherings have been held with the Ministry of Education, Dubai Water & Electricity Authority, DP World, and the Islamic Affairs Dep’t. Similar gatherings are planned to be held in future with Dubai Municipality, Dubai Airport, Dubai Holding, Emaar, and Nakheel.
“The public is very much in need of sufficient information feed about the metro and the enjoyable mobility associated with this new transport mode; the safest and fastest for reaching the intended destination that saves commuters from driving woes and traffic jams. Moreover, those who elect to use the metro as a permanent means of travel across Dubai will feel the psychological and physical relief.
“Adding Dubai Police General HQ in the promotional gatherings plan is highly important as Dubai Police is a permanent strategic partner of the RTA, and has a high level of efficiency and experience as well as fruitful and effective communication with all government and semi-government bodies and departments as well as the private businesses. RTA counts very much on the partnership with Dubai Police as it is a key player in maintaining the order and security” added Peyman.
For his part H.E. Major General Abdul Rahman Mohammed Rafee, Director General of the General Department of Community Services at Dubai Police General HQ, expressed his delight with the successful inauguration of Dubai Metro; a historical event that will have lasting memories as it came at a time where Dubai heavily needs such a vital mode of transport. “Through launching Dubai Metro, RTA has given a generous offer to road users towards facilitating their daily travels. The General Department of Community Services at the HQ will exploit the media to inform the employees of Dubai Police General HQ on all the information related to Dubai Metro” he added.
The joint introductory gathering was attended from the General Department of Community Services by the Director General H.E. Major General Abdul Rahman Mohammed Rafee, Deputy Director General Brigadier Mohammed Saeed Al Murri, Director of Quality Control Office Colonel Humaid Al Ansar, Director of Security Awareness Dep’t Lt. Colonel Dr. Jasim Khalil Merza, Director of Ceremonial and Protocol Dep’t Lt. Col. Mohammed Rashid Abdullah, Director of Administrative Affairs Dep’t Major Yousef Al Loghani, and the Head of Partnership Dep’t Zaid Al Sabooni. From the Operations Dep’t attended the Director of Quality Assurance Office Major Abdul Samad Hussain, and Lt. Saoud Ateeq Alkash. The joint gathering was managed by the Director of Public Relations and Marketing at Serco Co. Mr. Adel Al Awadi.
It is worth noting that RTA's Rail Agency revealed that 43,983 passengers had been lifted on Sunday (Sept 27), across the 10 stations on the Red Line of Dubai Metro, pushing up the total number of passengers served by Dubai Metro since its inauguration on 090909 to 1,062,013 passengers.
