PAL Group strides towards World Future Energy Summit 2009

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Tuesday January 15 2009: PAL Group of Companies, a multi-disciplinary Abu-Dhabi based enterprise, announced today, their participation at the World Future Energy Summit. Four of their subsidiaries (General LED, District Cooling, PAL Robotics and Reem Green Building), will be showcasing their latest developments at the Summit. The prototype for the development of one of the most sophisticated humanoid service robots in the world, along with cooling systems that will vastly reduce electricity demand, are among the many exhibits the PAL Group will be presenting at the Summit.
The World Future Energy Summit is considered one of the largest meetings of influential figures within the renewable energy sector, making PAL Group’s participation an essential component of its annual promotional activities.. With over 15,000 attendants expected, the Summit will provide PAL Group with the opportunity to present their world-class products and services to a large number of industry professionals.
General LED, headquartered in California, USA, will be exhibiting energy saving LED lighting applications and solutions to the Summit. Their innovative products also provide superior light quality and contain no hazardous materials, all at a lower cost.
District Cooling, established under PAL Technology in 2006, will highlight their BOO (Build, Operate, and Own) business model for the construction and operation of district cooling plants. The benefits of PAL’s District Cooling plants extend not only to the end user, but both developers and utility companies alike. The energy conservation attributes of District Cooling reduce electricity consumption which also lead to a reduction in carbon dioxide levels.
PAL Robotics will showcase their much anticipated Reem B, a prototype for the development of one of the most sophisticated robots in the world. Weighing around 60 kilograms, Reem B is a self-contained service robot that is able to communicate with humans and perform a number of unique and sophisticated tasks, such as conversing, walking dynamically, accepting voice commands, and facial recognition.. Reem B is also equipped with infrared lasers on its feet allowing it to map its surrounds in order locate and navigate autonomously.. In addition, Reem B can carry up to 25% of its weight, making it the world’s strongest humanoid robot. “We always wanted to create a truly useful robot to assist humans with sophisticated tasks, and Reem B is aligned with this vision”, said Syed Basar Shueb, Managing Director at PAL Robotics.
Reem Green Building (RGB) is one of the recent additions to the PAL Group family. RGB’s environmentally friendly building systems result in fast and affordable housing. RGB’s cost saving solution has outstanding insulating attributes, providing warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer seasons, and importantly reducing energy usage. Reem Green Building is currently developing housing projects in the Middle East and South America, with expansion to Africa and North America to follow.
