The Middle East is expected to require AED 44 billion in new power projects per year until 2020, according to recently published reports, in order to address the average six per cent growth in regional demand for electricity within the next 11 years. With aims to support the power needs of the most important industries in the region, Tripp Lite, a world leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment, has announced the launch of the ‘PowerVerter APS X Series Inverter/Charger’, which offers a cost-effective solution for commercial, industrial, healthcare, remote site operations.

The new product (model # APSX3024SW) is a versatile inverter/charger system with auto-transfer switching that can serve as a power backup for GSM Cell Sites towers as well as dependable automotive inverter for RVs, over-the-road trucking, conversion vans and emergency vehicles. It is also ideal as a standalone alternative power source for off-grid, alternative energy or export applications and as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for items compatible with selectable half-cycle (10ms) or full-cycle (20ms) transfer times especially in utility sectors. Company officials are confident that the newest addition to their product portfolio will be of valuable help to many companies requiring reliable backup power support.

“In an economic climate that has made every means of cost reduction and efficient operations a vital step for success, our new product can help companies ensure that they are using power efficiently, thereby saving them valuable time and money,” said Vipin Sharma, Vice President, EEMEA and India Sales, Tripp Lite. “With market studies projecting that upstream investments may total USD 225 billion over the next 10 years and financing for specific industrial cities will strongly follow through, we are anticipating a surge in the demand for high quality power protection products, which we are aiming to maximise.”

The APSX3024SW operates by converting DC power from battery to 230V AC power with a pure sine wave, which can run a wide variety of equipment. In addition to a strong capacity to supply power to remote sites, the product is also ideal for use in areas where power may be intermittent or unreliable, and protects connected equipment by correcting brownouts and over voltages through automatic voltage regulation. It also provides unlimited backup runtime for critical applications with any number of user-supplied batteries, and can provide unlimited runtime with any number of connected batteries when used as an alternative power source or UPS.

“The versatility of APSX3024SW makes it an ideal choice for many construction & telecom companies operating in the region. We are committed to address the needs of the Middle East market, which is one of the fastest growing sectors in the world, and we plan to continue on this path by continuously investing into technologies that support a stable electricity supply to power the most important regional industries,” concluded Sharma.
