RTA relocates Bus Stops at Trade Center R/A to Al-Jafiliya Stn
The move aims to ensure passengers safety, smooth mobility
Roads and Transport Authority – Nashwan Attaa’ee:
The Public Transport Agency, Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has recently relocated Bus Stops at the Trade Center Roundabout in Dubai to Jafiliya Bus Station due to consideration related to enhancing the safety of bus commuters in this area, and easing the hassles of transiting between these bus stops, particularly during peak traffic hours.
Commenting on the above, Mohammed Abdullah Al Ali, Director of Bus, RTA Public Transport Agency, said: “The relocation of these 4 Bus Stops stems from RTA’s Vision (Safe & Smooth Transport for All), and the decision has been put into effect as of March 15, 2013. These bus stops have been shifted to the new Bus Station near Jafiliya Metro Station in order to ensure high safety of bus riders,” adding that those bus stops situated at the Trade Center R/A used to serve 17 bus routes in addition to two Inter-City bus routes.
“Public buses serving Routes 10, X94, 27, C32 and A91 inbound from Umm Harir and heading towards the Trade Center will proceed to Jafiliya Bus Station where passengers can ride other buses, either from the said station or the roadside Bus Stop nearby in the direction of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Jafiliya,” he continued.
“Buses inbound from Bur Dubai will continue to stop at Jafiliya Metro Station near the roadside bus stop, and commuters can also ride other buses from Jafiliya Bus Station by crossing the Metro Footbridge. Commuters on the Metro Feeder Service (F11) who used to use the Bus Stops at the Trade Center R/A will be served by two alternative routes (98E) and (21). Commuters heading towards Dubai Mall can take buses from Jafiliya Metro & Bus Stations, while commuters on Bus Route (61) can continue use this Route from the said two stations,” he elaborated.
Concluding his remarks, Al Ali said: “The Agency has launched a wide-ranging campaign to sensitize riders on this change through various channels including illustrative roadmaps posted at the relocated Bus Stops, distributing flyers at site, sending text messages via mobile phones, posting changes on RTA website and communicating these changes through social media networks.
