Dubai, UAE, 7^th September 2015: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower the world’s largest district cooling services provider, said in connection with Cityscape Global 2015, that the real estate developers in the Arab world realize the importance of district cooling in saving operational and maintenance costs and preserving natural resources. Cityscape Global 2015, the Middle East's largest and most significant real estate event, is taking place from 8 to 10 September at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre,

The company added that these developers are fully convinced that time has come to shift from conventional chilling systems to district cooling that is environment-friendly and less energy consuming, as well as ensures high quality of air conditioning for the end user.

Empower urged the companies participating at Cityscape Global 2015 to put district cooling on top of their priority list while launching new projects.

According to H.E Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, district cooling is very much accepted in several new projects being launched in the region.

HE Shafar said District Cooling has become the integral part of Green Building concept in the Middle East, promoted by local governments. Empower has effectively integrated Green Building guidelines with district cooling, and we have even built our plants as per these guidelines. Developers should pay special attention to adopt environment-friendly cooling systems so as to accelerate global initiatives on sustainability and CO2 reduction. 

He added that Arab countries have the responsibility to foster district cooling technology and encourage its usage in more areas. Bin Shafar said that most of the GCC countries are on roads to shifting to district cooling, with the UAE leading the way.
